HoundDog Hootin' Revival!

This is John Slivka's fun cable access show. I was happy to play some country tunes on HoundDogTv with the great musician, Andy Hopkins.

"Mia Park is happy to wear many hats in Chicago's vibrant arts community..."

... In Chicago's music scene, Mia drums, sings and writes songs for the female Asian
American rock trio, Kim (www.kimrock.com). She also books shows and administrates
the band. Mia drums in Tatsu Aoki's Asian American Big Band (a 12 piece
orchestra!) that debuts this summer and will perform at the Chicago Jazz Festival
this fall.

Mia is the Asian American Cultural Ambassador for The Old Town School
of Folk Music where she researches Chicago's bountiful Asian American
music culture and has booked a music series called RISING: Asian American
Sounds of Chicago, the first program of its kind at the prestigious institution.
Mia also books and promotes various shows around Chicago including the
pot luck dinner/variety series, Pot Lucky, at The Hideout.

In Chicago's acting scene, Mia co-hosts cable access show Chic A Go Go,
a nutty music show for kids of all ages. Her co-host is a rat puppet
named Ratso. “Miss Mia” and Ratso interview bands that lip-synch on the
hugely popular program. Guests have included Vanilla Ice, Swamp Dog, Fugazi,
The Masqueraders, Sleater Kinny, OK GO and Neko Case just to name a few!
Mia also acts in Park Avenue Produces’ Captured Aural Phantasy theater
group. CAP performs live readings of classic comic books to sound effects and
slide shows. She also acts professionally in independent movies, industrial films
and at trade shows. Mia also MC's various fund raisers, music shows, and special
events for the City of Chicago (Dance to the Dawn of the New Millennium,
Music de Fete, Keith Harring Sculpture Exhibit Opening Party, etc.)

Mia serves on the Hot House Art Gallery Committee and is a member of the
National Association of Asian American Professionals and The Recording
Academy. For fun, Mia teaches kick boxing and loves bicycling!
