February 26, 2012: A ParaYoga Fire Workshop

This three hour workshop is on one of my favorite topics: agni, the transformative fire cultivated by a mindful yoga practice.

This practice will be physically challenging and motivational. Some yoga experience is required, but if you're a beginner please feel safe to practice with us.

This workshop is $40 for non-members of avani yoga. Please call 847-229-0292 for more information and click here for more information.

I love fire practices in Winter! Let's heat up your body, mind, determination and soul.

In 2011...

  • I taught an Introduction to the Vayus workshop at Tejas Yoga studio in Chicago on February 19th. It went great! I emailed a 14 page booklet to the participants, who learned practical ways to balance their prana vayus, their energy. I love this subject and this studio.

  • I welcomed in the new year at the Himalayan Institute studying with my teacher's teacher, Panditji Tigunait and his Living Tantra series. I've been a member there since 2006.

  • This is my 3rd year working with Jason and the Three Minute Egg. We'll hit the NYC Yoga Journal Conference, and the Midwest Yoga Conference. Go, eggs!

In 2010...

  • I taught the workshop: "Introduction to Tantric Meditation" on July 24th at Tejas Yoga. I was thrilled to have the opportunity and look forward to teaching it again.

  • I completed the written component of the Level I ParaYoga teacher test. I'd been preparing for it for months...woohoo!

  • I became an Ambassador for my favorite yoga mat company, Manduka. These are the only mats I own. They rock. I also became a product ambassador for Three Minute Egg, a terribly clever yoga prop.

  • I took three teacher trainings and a weekend workshop with my teacher, Rod Strykerand I assisted him at the teacher training, "Tantra Shakti: The Power and Radiant Soul of Yoga" at Kripalu in August.

  • I began teaching at the Act One Studio conservatory program in Autumn. I'm very excited about this class since I studied acting at Act One Studios for years. What a blessing. The students are amazing.

  • I worked at the Midwest Yoga Conference demonstrating the Three Minute Egg and assisting my good buddy, Jim Bennitt and prenatal teacher, Bahia.

  • I taught at the NYC Yoga and Raw Food Expo using that clever prop, the Three Minute Egg

  • I taught yoga in Melbourne, Australia at Yoga Flame, which is co-owned by ParaYoga student, Emma. It was lovely.

In 2009...

  • I assisted Daren Freisen with his Moksha Yoga teacher training program at Shanti Yoga Studio. I was happy to work with him and learned a lot.

  • I began volunteer teaching at KANWIN, a shelter for domestically abused Korean American Women in Chicago. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to continue teaching here.

  • In August, I lead a two hour workshop on twisting poses at Nature Yoga Studio. It was a twisting good time!

  • I completed two, forty hour teacher trainings with Yogarupa Rod Stryker in theParaYoga system. In March in St. Louis we completed the Yoga of Fulfillment and in June in Chicago we studied Prana. I also took a ParaYoga weekend workshop at Yoga Among Friends in Hinsdale, IL. I work at these ParaYoga events for Yogarupa. I manage merchandise sales and student registration, organize the work study staff and act as a liaison between ParaYoga and the venue. I'm happy to use my organizational skills to help.

  • I began working for Jason Scholder and his company, Three Minute Egg. Jason invented this terribly clever yoga prop that is very successful. We worked at the NYC Yoga Journal Conference in May and at the Midwest Yoga Conference in June. I demonstrated how the egg is used and helped sell them.

  • At the NYC Yoga Journal Conference, I studied again with Gary Kraftsow and Aadil Pahlkivala. At the Midwest Yoga Conference, I assisted Jim Bennitt with his workshop and studied with Mark Whitwell.
